Trust is a major factor in the internet business. This is not surprising as it is very convenient for cyber criminals to swindle unsuspecting customers. AUN SafeShop is an online store for the American University of Nigeria (AUN) Community. AUN SafeShop is a platform for AUN staff, students and faculty to buy and sell new or fairly used items among themselves. This platform is a lot safer for members of the AUN Community because it will be a near transparent system and it will be very difficult for people to be duped. This is because sufficient information would be provided about buyers and sellers of SafeShop (with their permission). People would be able to sell items of their choice on SafeShop, they would also be able to buy items from other sellers. The only items that would be available for sale would be items provided by the AUN community. Another major function of SafeShop would be auctioning and bidding. A seller can decide not to sell an item at a fixed price; he/she can decide to auction it. In this type of event, people can bid on the item(s) and it is therefore sold to the highest bidder. It is a fact that students get to a point in the semester where they need money, and are willing to sell items. AUN SafeShop provides the perfect avenue to such students so that they do not have to go from door to door looking for buyers. Sellers can register on SafeShop and immediately start selling different items. This platform is also directed at bringing students together, especially because a lot of students would prefer to meet with the seller and see the item before paying for it. AUN SafeShop would eliminate the ambiguity of anonymous sellers because it would be running in a small community, thus making it trustworthy and safe.

In our present society today, it is clearly seen that garbage cans are being placed in open environments because it needs to be accessed by the public. It can be observed that those garbage cans usually get filled up and overflow and litter the environment. Patil (2015) claims that this uncontrolled littering can lead to a gradual encroachment of diseases that can be very harmful to the human health. Littered trash can also produce bad and offensive smell around the surroundings. To tackle this problem, we had to introduce the SmartBin (Efficient Waste Handling) system. In the proposed system, the garbage can will be placed at a location and connected to Wi-Fi or an Ethernet port. The garbage can will also be embedded with an ultrasonic sensor (low cost hardware that will track levels of trash in the garbage cans). As soon as the garbage can get to the threshold limit, an email will be sent to the user that the trashcan is almost filled up. A visual representation is also made available on the local server SmartBin connects to.

<summary type="text">A review of dimensionality reduction methods and their applications.

In the world we live in today, the reduction in data generally has seen a great rise. This is because of the numerous advantages that come with working with smaller efficient data instead of the original large dataset. With this analogy, we can adopt Dimensionality reduction in computer science emphasizing on reducing computer memory in order to have more storage capacity on a computer. An example of this would be to reduce digital images which are then stored in 2D matrices. &#13;
Dimensionality reduction is a process whereby given a collection of data points in a high dimensional Euclidean space, it is often helpful to be able to project it into a lower dimensional Euclidean space without suffering great distortion. The result obtained by working in the lower dimensional space becomes a good approximation to the original dataset obtained by working in the high dimensional space. &#13;
Dimensionality Reduction has two categories: &#13;
In the first category includes those in which each attribute in the reduced set is a linear combination of the attributes in the original dataset. These include RP and PCA. While the second category includes those in which the set of attributes in the reduced set is a proper subset of the attributes in the original dataset. These include all the other six techniques I implemented such as New Random Approach, Variance Approach, The first Novel Approach, The second Novel Approach, The Third Novel Approach and the LSA-Transform Approach. &#13;
Also, I compared these techniques mentioned above by how they preserve their images. Furthermore, I looked at the various applications we can use.&#13;

<summary type="text">Design and implementation of SITC faculty portal

American University of Nigeria (AUN) has many web application used every day both by students and faculty. For students, faculty and other staff to know about a course or department; they have to visit the AUN website and they can only have little information about them. This problem is faced by students, faculty and visitors that want know about the school of information, technology and computing in the American University of Nigeria. SITC is the second largest school in AUN and it should have its own website platform where people can know more about the courses offered in the school, Catalogs, dean, different majors offered in the school and chairs of these majors. &#13;
The SITC Faculty Portal will give a clear image of the school of SITC and will help the faculty share documents and information among themselves. This application would have a logo of AUN and a description of the courses offered. A user would be required to simply log in in order to have access to the portal. It will have portlets which are pluggable user interface software components that are managed and displayed in a web portal, example are calendar, newsfeed and others. It would be compatible to any device supporting a web browser (like most of our phones and tablets). Given there is internet connection on campus and the compatible devices are mostly portable, this portal will be accessed. &#13;
This application if deployed would provide an easier, faster to know about the SITC for students, alumni, faculty and even visitors. And it will provide solutions to all of the above mentioned challenges faced by the member of SITC.
